All smiles for Valley

Valley already had the trophy in the bag, but Club made them work mighty hard last weekend, to maintain their one hundred per cent record over the last two seasons.

Club, who have shown some indifferent form of late, gave a stern reminder to Valley that they can’t expect to have everything their own way should the two, as expected, face off on February 6th in the Grand Championship final.

Both teams bagged three tries and Valley only scraped home with a 24-19 win, however let’s take nothing away from a team who have gone ten for ten, two years on the spin. Valley will take on Cricket Club this coming Saturday after the West Island side picked up a bonus point and secured fourth spot with an impressive away win at Tigers whose third place was already guaranteed.

Tigers will have been regrouping this week and will need to bring their A game, should they have any chance of upsetting the odds and denying Club another crack at Valley.

Kowloon who have been ravaged by injuries this season, managed to limp home in fifth, defeating Causeway Bay Rams 30-26. That the Rams scored 40 per cent of their season’s points in that last game tells the story of what has been a dire season for Sam Pinder’s men.

For us it’s Valley and Club all the way, with another crackerjack final on the near horizon.
