Army Green overcame a spirited effort by the Kolkata Jungle Crows to emerge as Cup champions of the All India Inter Club Rugby 7’s and reinforce their domination of recent years.
Army Green had been the quality outfit throughout the tournament, displaying excellent teamwork and in the final Dalvinder Singh and Uday Shankar were superb for the champions, as they recorded a 17-0 victory.

In the Plate tournament Delhi Lions edged Tamil Nadu Police 5-0 in a hard fought contest. Amit Lochat of the Lions put in a man of the match performance to steer his team to victory.
Mumbai Magicians used their superior speed and skill to overcome much older opponents in the form of Tamil Nadu Police Red, recording a 14-0 win in the final.

Greg Davey, the Rugby Development Manager for India, described the tournament as the biggest ever rugby tournament organised in India with forty club teams from every part of the country taking part. "The quality of rugby and the sheer passion of the players have been overwhelming. In the coming week we will have an All India inter-city tournament featuring twenty teams, starting on 3rd March Wednesday. The top teams from around the country like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai etc will battle it out in this two day tournament", he added.
