Manila Hapons R.F.C.

Another new club on the Philippine scene are the Manila Hapons who were established in 2007 by a group of rugby loving Japanese businessmen. Hapon means Japanese in Tagalog (the Philippine language). The team have experienced players and total novices in their ranks and their primary motto is “ENJOY RUGBY.”

The team have also attracted the services of players from the UK, Samoa and Tonga and have competed in all domestic tournaments in 2008. They attended the Asia Japanese Rugby Cup in Singapore in December 2007 and will return again next month.
